This is the perfect curl-up-before-the-fire-with-a-book novel. As a New Yorker, I also enjoyed familiar references to some of Manhattan's kitschier spots, particularly once I discovered where "hell" was located (a real chortle-out-loud kind of moment). I am disappointed --- up until about 3/4 of the way through, I was sure I was just going to rave about the book.
